BUTTON PRODUCTION

Buttons are printed using professional qualiity CMYK Inkjet printers operating at 720 to 1440 dpi using advanced RIP print technology.
Long lasting pigment inks and fine heavy-weight, pure white paper ensure the best possible print quality.

Color matching is ensured by regular monitor and printer profiling using Pantone® spectrophotometers, Pantone® Color Books and Pantone® Color Book software.

On-hand Pantone® Color Books include Plus Series:
Solids Coated/Uncoated, Color Bridge Coated/Uncoated,
CMYK Coated/Uncoated, Goe Coated, GoeBridge Coated

for best matching we recommend using: Color Bridge CMYK PC (coated)

Minimum Reproducible Print Stroke Size (line thickness) relates to the ability of the print system to accurately reproduce line thickness. This matter is of particular importance when printing thin light colored information within a darker colored background - like small White text or thin White lines on a Black background. It is not normally a concern when printing dark information on a lighter background. Keep in mind that there is always some difference (however small) between what is created and viewed on a computer screen versus what can actually be reproduced by a printer. Different printers will reproduce differently depending on their print process. Our professional printers use a print process that is a wet ink layering method, where wet inks are applied to white paper. The color White is assumed to be the paper color and therefore not printed. When printing a white (or light colored) line within a darker colored background, the darker background (which has more ink) will have a tendency to bleed (spread) inward within the light colored space, making the thickness (stroke size) of the white (or light colored) line appear thinner than specified in the digital design. Therefore, when designing light colors within a dark surrounding you should assume a stroke reduction of about 0.25pt, due to the inward bleed of the surrounding darker color, and an absolute minimum reproducible stroke size of about 0.25pt. So, as an example, to print a 0.25pt light colored stroke (which is the smallest reproducible stroke size) within a darker background, you should specify a 0.5pt stroke size in your digital design; to print a 0.5pt printed stroke, specify a 0.75pt stroke and so on. A 0.25pt design stroke will not print accurately. This issue also applies to small, thin lined light colored text within a darker background. In this case the text should generally be bolded and the text point size not made so small as to violate the above stated minimum stroke size. In all cases, it is important to supply high resolution graphics artwork (300 dpi JPG or true vector EPS, PDF).

Buttons Construction is of light metal and finished with clear plastic mylar to protect the printed information. The mylar gives the button a shiny (gloss) finish.

Artwork-to-Button Placement Tolerance of the production assembly process is approximately (+/-) 1/32" (0.03") - one of the best in the industry. So artwork placement on the physical button is very accurate, but care must still be taken when applying the above measurements to your design, to allow for the (+/-) tolerance swing. Specifically, artwork that is placed on or too close to the Front Visible Area boundary may show noticable shifts button-to-button. This shift is most noticable for designs where circular information follows the circular curve of the physical button. Instead, use these measurements simply as absolute boundary guides.

DESIGN OPTIONS
Create your button artwork using any design software that can save to a JPG, TIF, PDF or EPS file format (use CMYK color format for best color accuracy) - OR - we can help design the artwork for you - FREE! Another option is to use one of our Pre-Printed Buttons as a base design. Just tell us the Pre-Printed Button you want to follow along with any design changes, and we'll take care of the rest.

YOU WILL RECEIVE UP TO TWO PROOFS PER DESIGN ORDERED
(additional proofs are just $10 each)

NUMBER OF PRINT DESIGNS PER BUTTON SIZE ORDERED

Each print design receives a digital proof that must be approved by the purchaser prior to moving to production.
